Digital Minefield Technology
What is a Digital Minefield?
A digital minefield is the concept of using purpose built virtual machines, containers, user accounts, and IPv6 address space to create a fixed, or ephemeral series of systems hidden amongst your internal network. Through the combination of these technologies you create intentional paths of least resistance. for which the very nature of all humans will tend to follow. At the end of these intentional paths of least resistance sits your mines, whose sole purpose is to be hidden amongst the rest of your infrastructure where their sole purpose is to make a very loud "boom" when a proverbial attacker steps on them.
By approaching security in this fashion you are relying on human nature, psychology mixed with technology, and in the case of an ephemeral field creating a very confusing battlespace (for anyone without a map of the minefields) in which the very landscape of that battlespace is constantly shifting and redistributing where your minefields are places throughout the battlespace.
